We came to your Pub on Monday evening. We would like to say how well we where treated by your bar staff 'James'. After seeing your menu, we cancelled our hotel meal. (James used his own internet access to get us the number) thank you.
The pub is wonderful, treating us and our dogs amazingly well.
Just as an afterthought the food was great too.
Thanks to all.

This is not so much as a review of your hostelry, more of a slice of its history. My Great x 4 Grandmother was the innkeeper of the Cheshire Cheese in the mid 1800's . Her name was Anne "Nancy" Mycocke, (nee Wudruffe). She was was married to one Mathew Mycocke who died in 1804. "Nancy" died in the Cheshire Cheese in 1831.

"your new Titanic pub in Buxton is BRILLIANT! At last Buxton has a proper pub, dedicated to real ale, with no irritating music or TV's. A place of converssation with no distractions and wonderful beer. I previously had to visit Leek and Stoke to sample Titanic beers as well as beer festivals. Cheers"
Dave Arviscough says:
The Cheshire Cheese is now a wonderful pub! What a difference a proper pub atmosphere makes. No tellys and no intrusive pop music makes this venue a perfect place for conversation with friends. And the food's good too. Good chef. The Titanic range of beers is superb and the three guest ales will satisfy those who want to try something different. Top marks! This is what Buxton has needed for a long time. The loyalty card scheme will keep us locals coming back. Thanks Titanic.
Dave Marsden says:
I arrived expecting to get a hardy hansons. However the pub is now a titanic house and my survey of upper Buxton stopped in the cheese as I sampled an everards tiger followed by a captain smith and several cherry beers (the best brew I have experienced this decade) I am now on the plum porter and hoping closing time never comes! The rest of the market place will have to wait.

Arrived in Buxton today on a short two day trip. After a walk round the lovely town we came across this lovely pub. We were made to feel very at home and enjoyed a lovely meal in very relaxing surroundings! Thanks to the staff for the lovely food and friendly and efficient service.
Great pub, amazing food and beer. I really loved the First Class Stout - so much better than Guinness it's not even funny.
One thing I would say, is that a little music would be nice, the atmosphere can be a bit quiet at times.
Steve Edwards says:
This is everything a pub should be. There were 10 ales on tap, food was very good and reasonably priced, there were no annoying TV's and finally the staff were exceptionally friendly. Definitely the best pub we found in Buxton.
